As the home of Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama, North America’s only Hyundai Automotive Facility, Montgomery draws a large part of its economy from the facility. Employing 3,300 people, the billion-dollar facility is located just 25 minutes southwest of Staybridge Suites Montgomery. And the new KIA Motors Manufacturing plant in LaGrange is also only an hour away on Interstate 85, which is rapidly becoming known as the "automotive corridor" of Alabama. The Maxwell-Gunter Air Force Base serves over 25,000 military and civilian personnel and welcomes over 20,000 students to Air University each year.
